Script Notes for Fourth Cannes Screenplay List 🙌

Dear community,

Thank you to everyone who shared their interest in joining our Ambassador Program, which we are kicking off this week! 🙌 Today is special as we start promoting the nominees of the Third Cannes Screenplay List! Also, check out our dedicated script notes ahead of applying to the Fourth Cannes Screenplay List 👇

SCRIPT NOTES FOR FOURTH CANNES SCREENPLAY LIST

Our team is offering dedicated script notes exclusively during the months of December and January to help our community review their script ahead of applying to the Fourth Cannes Screenplay List.

To ensure our team does not get overwhelmed with script notes in January, we are offering a 20% off on script notes requested before the holidays. Get your script in before December 22 to receive 20% with the coupon DECEMBERDISCOUNT (expires 12/22).

By submitting your script, you will receive an industry-standard evaluation from our female-led team. Our script notes cover different areas from story structure to character development to the representation of women. We also include recommendations on your logline and synopsis. Our evaluations follow the same criteria used by our female-led reading committee that selects the shortlist to be submitted to our jury. The curation of the Annual Cannes Screenplay List highlights feature film projects with international distribution potential that feature complex female or non-binary characters.

We are excited to read! ✨

SAG-AFTRA OFFICIALLY RATIFIES CONTRACT đź‘Ź

On December 5, SAG-AFTRA members voted to ratify the new 3-year deal contract, ending a historic labor dispute after reaching a tentative agreement on day 118 of the strike.

Quoting Variety, "The deal provides a 7% increase in minimum rates in the first year of the contract and a $40 million residual bonus for actors on streaming shows. The deal also provides the first-ever protections against the use of artificial intelligence to replicate performances. Under the agreement, actors must consent to being replicated, and the intended use of the AI performance must be spelled out in 'reasonably specific' terms." Read the full Variety article.

Read the new three-year deal summary on the SAG AFTRA website.

Go further by understanding why 22% of SAG AFTRA members voted against the new deal, claiming stronger protections are needed against AI in the New York Times.
