Our team is back from a very fruitful visit at TIFF 2022 and ready to kick-off the first round of networking events for our Storyteller Club members! 🥳

News from TIFF 2022!

TIFF comes back with a very rich programming for 2022!

After a very successful opening night, with the premiere of Sally El-Hosaini's THE SWIMMERS and a buzzing premiere for Viola Davis' THE WOMAN KING, more women visionaries joined the festivities, including Taylor Swift, Hillary Clinton, Elisabeth Moss.

We were pleased to hear that Sally El-Hosaini received the TIFF Emerging Talent Award! In her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sally shares how she wanted to tell the heroic true story of Syrian sisters Yusra & Sarah Mardini with authenticity yet honor the reality lived by all refugees. On the market side, Wscripted had the pleasure to meet IRL with Abbesi Akhamie and Cheryl Meyer, both fellow nominees of Wscripted's Second Cannes Screenplay List. We also had the chance to nurture key relationships to expand opportunities for women storytellers, including with MUBI, ReFrame, TIFF, Sundance, Berlinale! Stay tuned 🙌

To celebrate the launch of our Club, Wscripted has decided to offer a limited number of fellowships to members who can benefit from joining the Club. Wscripted covers 40% of the subscription fee 😊 If you are interested, you can apply at the link below:

By becoming a Club member, you will take part in bi-monthly script notes meetings with a working group of 3 women, an incredible opportunity to receive feedback from other women to hone your story and participate in 1on1 monthly networking zooms to build collaborations 🙌 The Club membership runs for 12 months and also includes free applications to Wscripted's exclusive call for entries and producer view notifications 💃

Storytellers with a feature film with strong casting potential are invited to apply before September 30th at 6PM ET. Preferred genres include drama, literary adaptations, romance and romantic comedy, history, adventure, political and action thrillers, and smart science fiction. Only the 4 selected writers will be notified on Friday October 7th.

This virtual event is free for all Wscripted's members to attend. We strive to create a productive forum in which writers can practice their pitches and the opportunity for constructive networking.
