EARLY APPLICATIONS OPEN IN JANUARY

It is this time again! Wscripted is currently in the process of inviting its jury for the 2024 Cannes Screenplay List and preparing to open applications in January! Make sure to review your draft using our new technology platform Wscripted+ to have your script ready for the fourth edition of the List!

✨ 2024 will be special, as we host an inaugural brunch to present the list to a select number of producers and agents, along with our jury, and announce a first-of-its-kind production committee to finance projects from the Cannes Screenplay List. More soon!

Meanwhile, we are excited to resume promoting the nominees of the Third Cannes Screenplay List to production companies, with special features on our social media, newsletter to producers, pitches to producers and development executives, and highlights of the list through our partner ReFrame. WRITERS’ STRIKE: IT’S A WIN!

We shared our sincere congratulations to the Writers Guild Of America and studios for unanimously approving a beneficial deal, and to all the writers who stayed strong by joining the picket lines until the 148th day!

“We can say, with great pride, that this deal is exceptional – with meaningful gains and protections for writers in every sector of the membership,” the WGA said in a statement announcing the tentative deal on September 24.

The contract includes pay increases, better benefits, AI restrictions, guarantees for streaming compensation, longer-duration employment terms.
