EARLY BIRD: Wscripted’s Fourth Cannes Screenplay List presented by MUBI

Happy new year!

We would like to give a special thank you to our community and are excited for the continued work in 2024! We are thrilled to kick off the first month of 2024 with the early applications for Wscripted's Fourth Cannes Screenplay List presented by MUBI 🎉

EARLY BIRD APPLICATIONS OPEN

Early bird applications are NOW OPEN for women and non-binary screenwriters and writer-directors with a feature screenplay in English or French language until March 1st. The final deadline will be April 1st.

We are particularly excited to let early applicants who apply before March 1st have the option to request dedicated script notes based on the criteria of the Cannes Screenplay List and resubmit their script for free before April 1st. Our female-led reading committee will consider the second submission of the draft for the Cannes Screenplay List’s selection. If you are interested, you can select the option directly in the application form.

Wscripted's third list was unveiled in Variety and curated by an inaugural jury of female filmmakers, including Mounia Meddour (“Papicha”), Funa Maduka (Waiting for Hassana), Camille Griffin (Silent Night). We are excited for the fourth edition of the list and will announce the jury in March!

“The work of the Cannes Screenplay List is very important to discover more stories by female filmmakers.” There’s “still a long way to debunk misogynistic stereotypes and biais in society so having more women and non-binary writers write their own stories is the best way to help change perceptions.”
